From the moment we wake up
or leave our homes, we are constantly
bombarded with images and messages from
media we consume.
It's easy to be attracted to the "noise" when it's
entertaining and everyone you know is listening too.
We often overlook how Western elites have designed
and constructed technology with cultural and political assumptions and biases. With control over the way
we look at and talk about technology, we, in turn,
tend to assume Western superiority and neutrality
in the role technology plays in our lives. We
continue to consume all information passively
without attempting to filter the
"signal" from the "noise".
The rich are getting richer while minority voices,
efforts, and values are silenced, appropriated,
belittled, and overlooked.
Not everyone's stories get to be told.
